Norristown leads the way in Suburban One at 9-1
Norristown
boys basketball earned themselves a little cushion in the Suburban One
League, when on Friday fellow-top-ranked, Wissahickon (8-2), was knocked
off by Plymouth Whitemarsh (5-5). Norristown (9-1) owes their one loss
to Wissahickon, who on January 11th took the visiting Eagles by surprise
and with some final second heroics by point guard, Chase Wilson, won by
one point, 55-54.
With Plymouth Whitemarsh’s determined win on Friday, they hope to keep playoff hopes alive, but to do so they’ll essentially need to win out the season. On Tuesday, Wissahickon will face Cheltenham (7-2) which will only solidify Norristown’s lead in Suburban One play.
To round out the season, Norristown will face Springfield Township (1-8) on 1/29 in Erdenheim, Plymouth Whitemarsh at home on February 2/01, Wissahickon at home on 2/05, and the final regular season game at Cheltenham on 2/08.
